House renovation, Giffnock.
A complete transformation.
A single storey 1930’s red sandstone bungalow in Giffnock has been a major project for Huntly Park Interiors.
The house was dated and tired and required a full sympathetic renovation, taking into consideration the age of the property and retaining or re-installing period features, such as picture rails, architraves and an arts and craft fireplace.
Working alongside the builders the brief was to make the house a light-filled family home, completely redesigning the layout and adding a new staircase leading to two new double bedrooms and a shower room in the attic space. A great deal of thought was put into the spatial design and the design of the property.
A soft palette flows throughout the home, whilst the front room gives a bit more punch with a Farrow and Ball blue and a nod to nostalgia with a William Morris wallpaper.
A Mulberry wallpaper on the staircase landing is a classy piece of fun! Soft furnishings and well thought out lighting add to the scheme.
The overall look is a mix of the traditional and contemporary.
